Calcium chloride? No prb.. Tire fixing again

** We are working on fixing the rear tire now, first we have to pump out all that chloride.
** Mike quickly learnt that those weights were heavier than he originally thought, and to watch his fingers 🤣😳

I do realize that video documentation and how to videos have taken over KGkey and is an awesome tool for do-it-yourselfers, having said that... I've been working in the tractor and other heavy machinery industry for nearly 30 years and as a foreman for 10 of those years I've seen some pretty f***** up accidents happen due to lack of attention to detail and surrounding work area. These cats (no pun intended) would be shut down immediately if a safety inspections officer were to walk onto property and see a guy with a camera on one hand and operating heavy machinery with the other. This is a violation and waaay worse, a really bad accident waiting to happen. Just sayin guys.

The more modern way to add weight to the tractor is too use a vegetable based oil, its non-corrosive and weighs the same as CC. Because its non-corrosive you dont need to use a tube in the tire to prevent rust. Its more expensive at around 2.50 a gallon verses CC which in my area is about 1.50. But it is a much better option.

My father ran a tire shop for 39 years, and I still continue. I do not agree with everything done here. calcium is mixed at 150 lbs per barrel. so lets say 400 lbs of water (not filled to the top) and the rest salt. so about 550 lbs per imperial gallon barrel. Guess that would be about 10 lbs per US gallon and 12 lbs per imperial gallon. That stem was fine till he squashed it between the tire and the rim when he lifted the top of the tire to remove it. I am guessing it was only the insert (removable piece)as the inside of the t ire was dry. If it had a leak inside, you would know. Swap the insert on the other side, and save yourself some money. I do not enjoy working with calcium in freezing temperatures. Have 3 wet tractor tires booked for this saturday. suppose to be just below freezing instead of minus 30.

Just watching this now, chloride, depending on the type of salt you use can weigh can vary. The type of salt you use and quantity can make it freeze at higher temps. All,of it depends on the types of salts used. This is quite cool to see other uses for the brine as I used it in oil and gas Wells for completion fluid.
