I think it would be cool if you could make a mode the lets you pick an angle with the que and it will figure out a way to sink a shot from that angle. You could also make it so you could pick a ball and it will give you a way to make the shot on that ball.

Is the aiming algorithm purely model/theory based (e.g., calculating where to aim based on making the cue and object ball line of centers point toward the pocket), or was there training/AI/ML involved in learning to aim? It seems like it would be hard to incorporate friction/throw effects into a theory-based system because these effects vary with shot speed and cut angle. Same with bank shots; shot speed and approach angle affect the extent to which the cushion dulls the angle.

Dude ...you need to creat an I marketable pool table overlay for training. Forget about the actuated cue.....just the overlay and the lines that show what to do and all the angles...

You could definitely market the algorithm and projector as a practice aid. People could learn to play billiards a lot faster if they could see the optimal shot and get in the repetitions to the point that they recognize what to do for a given shot.
