On the hydraulic couplers, put a couple of shop rags over the male end then smack the ball with a plastic dead blow hammer. Only takes a small amount of oil to relieve the pressure and the shop rags keep it out of your eyes.

You need a 2nd telehandler, set it specific for jobs like this. LOL a couple of light whacks and it falls out. At least you know it's not caused by lack of maintenance like most are. Oh damn, yea, definitely a bearing out on that fan. I was hoping it wouldn't catch fire on you, seen that happen a few times. Bearing or what's left of it will catch any grease on fire then you got some issues. Andy, since you're there, might still be best to put in new seals. Great video as always, cheers :)

If you have a problem with those bushings on the pistons seizing due to being submerged in the manure, you should put some remote grease fittings on them. Run the grease tubes up to a location where you can give them a bit of grease every now and again.

Been quite a while since I've seen one of those man killers. Is that a Milwaukee? I had an old Porter Cable, must've weighed about 25 pounds, but you better be hanging on or it would throw you across the room. I think it had a 7/8 or 1 inch chuck on it. Yours looks about the same size. Looks like you had a weeks worth of your word of the day, maybe even a months worth.

Shaun Greenlee
2 ай мурун
@John R Yes, I've heard some on that, seems like your gonna practically have to have an pilots license to fly a drone and to register the drones as well. Seems like more ways for the Government to take more money from people and to keep a knee on the neck of people.
John R
2 ай мурун
@Farming Fixing & Fabricating what are you gonna do when the new drone regs kick in??. Seems pretty strict.

2 ай мурун
@Farming Fixing & Fabricating Oh wow, those are super nice drones. A long ways out of my price range. Excellent videos you are making. We lived on a small 24 acre farm back in the early 70's to the early 80's, about 10 years. Most we had was an old 8N ford and Model B JD tractor, the rest was done by hand or buckets Times sure has changed. LOL

Andy, please don't ever use compressed air on a cylinder like you did there again, it's very dangerous. When you had the pipe wrench on there trying to turn that thing all I could imagine was that thing letting loose and breaking your wrist. Regardless of what Volvo John said, the oil in the rod end of that cylinder would only slow the extension a little bit. At the very least you would have been covered with oil that would come shooting out of that rod end fitting. Worst case someone would have been seriously hurt or killed. Just do from the beginning what you did in the end, hook it up to a hydraulic circuit.
byronmill
2 ай мурун
kgkey.info/block/0KWFm7fOe9KKk20/video.html This is significantly different than what you were doing as they were pushing out the gland, but if the piston let loose your rod would have extended with the same type of explosive force that this one did, just would not have come flying apart.

Worked in a hydraulic shop years ago, putting air to that cylinder scared the crap out of me. The owners son put air to a 4 inch cylinder, the ram extended and literally blew the end off the cylinder. The ram hit a concrete wall about 30 feet and bounced around the parking lot taking out cars and a dumpster, took out a 4 inch deep chunk of solid concrete. THE REASON OIL IS USED IN CYLINDERS IS IT IS MOVES THRU THE FITTING VERY SLOWLY AND CANNOT BE COMPRESSED (IT IS CONTROLLED), AIR BEHIND A RAM IS COMPRESSABLE AND THE RAM WAS LOADED LIKE A GIANT SPRING. Put air to an oil reservoir to a ram is ok. Sorry if I sound like a prick but everyone needs to know how dangerous air on a cylinder is, ask the hydraulic shop.
